Outdure Academy — Verified Badge Use and Representation Standard
Document ID: ACADEMY-PUB-10 · Version: 2026.09.1 · Effective: 7 September 2026 · Provider: Outdure International Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong with limited liability · Registered office: available from academy@outdure.com on request · Contact: academy@outdure.com
This standard governs every use of an Outdure Academy status badge — by an installer, by us, by a dealer, and in any product interface. It applies to us as much as it applies to you. Most people never read a terms page; the badge is what they see. So the badge has to carry its own meaning.
1. The scope line — mandatory, everywhere
1.1 Every surface that shows a Verified badge must display the following line, or link directly to it from the badge itself:
What "Verified" means: we reviewed documentation for two or more of this installer's completed installations against our published installation instructions and found, on that documentation, that they conformed. It is not an endorsement of their business, a guarantee of their future work, or confirmation of their licensing or insurance. Installers are independent businesses, not our employees or agents. You contract with the installer directly, on their terms and at their price.
1.2 Short form, for a genuinely space-constrained surface, and only where it links to 1.1:
Verified = we reviewed 2+ completed installations against our installation instructions. Not an endorsement, guarantee, or check of licensing or insurance. [What this means]
1.3 A badge with no scope line and no link to one must not be published, by anyone.
2. What the badge asserts, and what it does not
Asserts: that at a stated point in time we reviewed documentation for at least two completed installations and found them, on that documentation, to conform to our installation instructions.
Does not assert: competence generally · quality of work generally · that we inspected a site · that we monitor the installer · that the installer is licensed, registered, bonded or insured · that the installer is solvent, reputable or well run · that we recommend or endorse the installer · that we supervise, direct or control their work · that we will stand behind their work · that using them changes anyone's warranty rights.
3. What a badge holder may do
3.1 Display the current badge artwork, unaltered, at a legible size, with the scope line or a direct link to it, on your website, a social profile, a quotation, printed material, signage and vehicle livery.
3.2 Describe yourself accurately as: "Verified installer — Outdure Academy", "Outdure Academy Verified", "we hold Outdure Academy Verified status".
3.3 Where the status is held by an individual and your business has more than one installer, say so accurately — for example, "two of our installers hold Outdure Academy Verified status" — rather than implying the whole business holds it.
4. What a badge holder must not do
4.1 Alter, recolour, redraw, animate, crop or combine the badge with other marks, or use it as, or as part of, your own logo, trading name, domain name, social handle or app icon.
4.2 Use the badge, our name or our marks in a way that suggests you are us, are part of us, are authorised by us, act for us, are employed by us, are a franchisee or agent of ours, or that we stand behind your work.
4.3 Use any of these words about yourself on the strength of Academy participation: certified · Outdure-certified · certified installer · accredited · qualified · licensed · approved installer · approved contractor · authorised · authorised representative · official · vetted · endorsed · independently verified · verified by [any third party] · Outdure-backed · Outdure-guaranteed.
4.4 Say or imply that a customer's warranty depends on, or improves because of, using you; or that we guarantee, insure or supervise your work; or that we have inspected a site.
4.5 Use the badge on a quotation or a job that is not for our systems, or in a way that suggests a product we did not supply is ours.
4.6 Continue any use after the status ends. Permission ends with the status, and all use must stop within 30 days.
5. Rules that bind us
5.1 We will not describe any installer as our installer, our team, certified, accredited, qualified, approved, authorised, vetted or endorsed, and we will not describe our own review as an inspection, audit, certification or approval.
5.2 Every badge we publish — on a web page, in a directory result, in a product interface, in an email, in a support reply, in a social post — carries the scope line or links to it.
5.3 We will not present a badge in a way that suggests ongoing monitoring, insurance verification, general competence, or that we recommend one installer over another for a reason we will not state.
5.4 We audit our own microcopy. Terminology drifts in interface labels, tooltips, email subject lines and support replies long before it drifts on a terms page, so those are what we check.
5.5 Where we know something. Where we receive information suggesting a badge holder no longer meets the criteria, we consider it and record what we did about it — including a decision that no action is needed and why. We do not leave the power unexercised and unrecorded.
5.6 We keep, for every badge in circulation, the record of what was verified, when, by whom, on what evidence and against which version of the installation instructions. A badge that cannot be traced to that record is withdrawn.
6. Insurance — the only permitted formulation
Neither we nor a badge holder may state or imply that we verify, monitor or guarantee an installer's insurance. Where the topic arises, the only permitted formulation is about our own process:
Verified installers are asked to confirm they hold public liability insurance. We do not verify, monitor or guarantee any installer's insurance, and you should ask to see their certificate yourself.
7. Dealers, resellers, stockists and third parties
7.1 A business that stocks or resells our products may accurately say that named individuals it employs hold a named Academy status. It must not describe itself, as a business, as certified, accredited, approved, verified or authorised on that basis, and there is no such thing as a "Verified Reseller" or a "Certified Stockist".
7.2 Where a third party uses a prohibited term about Academy, we ask for it to be corrected. Quoting someone else's words is not itself a breach; adopting the term as our own description is.
8. Reporting misuse and enforcement
Report any misuse to academy@outdure.com. Where a badge is misused we will normally ask for it to be corrected first. Where it is not corrected, or the misuse is serious, a status decision may follow under the Academy Assessment and Revocation Policy — with notice, a right of reply and an appeal.
Governing law and disputes are set out in the Academy Jurisdiction Overlays, which apply to this document as if set out in it in full.
