Outdure Academy — Tier Definitions and Criteria
Document ID: ACADEMY-PUB-02 · Version: 2026.09.2 · Effective: 7 September 2026 · Provider: Outdure International Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong with limited liability · Registered office: available from academy@outdure.com on request · Contact: academy@outdure.com
This page is the controlling explanation of what each Outdure Academy status means, how it is obtained, what it entitles you to, what it does not mean, how it can be lost, and what you may and may not say about it publicly. If anything anywhere else — a marketing page, a badge, a brochure, a warranty document, a support reply or a conversation with a dealer — says something different, this page controls.
The two axes — and they never merge
There are two separate things in the Outdure world that people sometimes confuse.
| Axis | What it is | The statuses on it |
|---|---|---|
| Academy statuses — an individual's training and recognition level | What an individual installer has completed and, at one level, what we have reviewed of their completed work | Registered · Trained · Verified, and the separately negotiated Strategic Partner arrangement |
| Commercial roles — a business's trading relationship | Whether a business buys and resells or stocks our products under a separate commercial agreement | Reseller · Stockist |
Neither axis ever confers anything on the other. Completing Academy training at any level never makes a business a Reseller or Stockist. Being a Reseller or Stockist never confers any Academy status on anyone. A business can be a Reseller with no Trained installers at all, and an installer can be Verified while working for a business that buys nothing from us. See the Academy Reseller and Stockist Terms.
Nor is an Academy status a rank in a business relationship. No Academy status entitles you to buy from us, buy at any price, sell our products, hold stock, or represent us.
Registered
What it is. The entry status. You have created an Academy account and expressed interest in the programme.
How you get it. Create an account and give accurate enrolment information. There is no assessment, no fee and no minimum purchase.
What it entitles you to. Access to the Academy platform and to the course content made available at that level, under the Academy Course Content Licence and IP Terms.
What it is not. It is not permission to install our products; not a statement about your competence, training or product knowledge; not a factor in any warranty decision; not an entry in the installer directory; and not an endorsement of you or your business by us.
How it can be lost. By closing your account, or under the Academy Assessment and Revocation Policy for a serious breach of the Participation Terms or the Code of Conduct.
What you may say publicly. "Registered with Outdure Academy." Nothing more. Do not present Registered status as training, competence, approval or endorsement.
Trained
What it is. You have completed Core Training — our set of mandatory foundational modules about our own products — and passed the associated assessment, including every safety-relevant question.
How you get it.
- Hold Registered status.
- Complete every module in the current published Core Training set.
- Pass the Core Training assessment, answering every safety-relevant question correctly.
- There is no fee, no minimum purchase and no on-site component.
What it entitles you to.
- To describe yourself, accurately, as a Trained installer for Outdure systems.
- A Certificate of Completion naming the modules completed, the course version and the date.
- Access to further course content made available at that level.
- Eligibility to apply for Verified status once the Verified criteria are met.
What it is not. It is not a trade licence. It is not a professional certification, accreditation or qualification under any government or regulatory regime, and no accrediting or licensing body sits behind it. It is not a statement that you are insured, bonded or licensed. It is not an employment, agency, franchise or endorsement relationship with us. It is not a statement about any particular job you have done or will do — nobody has looked at your work to grant it. It reflects short, self-paced training modules and an online assessment, and nothing else.
How it can be lost. Under the Academy Assessment and Revocation Policy — for an assessment-integrity breach, a serious safety matter, a serious breach of the Code of Conduct, or account closure. Separately, where we materially change a product or its installation instructions, Trained status may lapse for that changed component only until you complete the updated module; that is a conditional lapse, not a revocation, and it does not affect your record for anything else.
What you may say publicly.
- You may say: "Trained installer — Outdure Academy." "I have completed Outdure Academy Core Training." "Outdure Academy Trained."
- You may not say: "certified", "Outdure-certified", "certified installer", "accredited", "qualified", "licensed", "approved installer", "approved contractor", "authorised", "authorised representative", "official Outdure installer", or anything suggesting you are part of, employed by, an agent of, or acting for us.
Verified
What it is. A Trained installer who has additionally submitted documentation for two or more completed installations which we have reviewed and found, on the documentation submitted, to conform to our published installation instructions, who passed the associated documentation review, and who has no unresolved remediation flag.
How you get it.
- Hold Trained status on the current course version.
- Submit documentation — photographs and installation records — for two or more completed installations.
- We review that documentation against the version of our published installation instructions current at the time of the installation.
- Every submitted installation is found, on the documentation, to conform.
- You have no unresolved remediation flag.
- There is no fee, no minimum purchase and no site visit.
We record, for each grant: who reviewed which installation, on what date, against which version of the installation instructions, on what evidence, and who granted the status. If we cannot record those things, we do not grant the status.
What it entitles you to.
- To describe yourself, accurately, as a Verified installer for Outdure systems, using the badge under the Academy Verified Badge Use and Representation Standard.
- A listing in the public installer directory, if you ask for one — see the Academy Directory Listing Terms.
- To receive enquiries passed on through the directory or by us — see the Academy Lead Routing Terms.
- Eligibility for any separately published promotional benefit that names the Verified status — no promotional labour benefit is offered at general availability.
What it is not — and this is the part that matters most.
"Verified" means we looked at documentation for at least two completed installations and found them to conform to our installation instructions. It means nothing else. It is not a professional licence, certification or accreditation. It is not a check of your business — we do not assess whether you are solvent, reputable, well-run, licensed, bonded or insured, and we do not represent that you are any of those things. It is not confirmation that you hold insurance; we may ask you to confirm you hold public liability cover, but we do not verify, monitor or guarantee any installer's insurance, and a customer should ask to see your certificate themselves. It is not ongoing monitoring — it is a review of specific past documentation at a point in time. It is not a guarantee, warranty or prediction about any future installation. It is not an endorsement of your business generally. It is not supervision, direction or control of your work by us. It is not an employment, agency, franchise, representative, partnership or subcontracting relationship, and it gives you no authority to commit us to anything or to accept, vary or determine a warranty claim on our behalf. Any product warranty, and the conditions on which it applies, are governed by the applicable QwickBuild warranty terms; this status does not by itself approve an installation, establish compliance, or guarantee a warranty claim.
How it can be lost. Under the Academy Assessment and Revocation Policy: fraud in obtaining the status; a confirmed safety failure attributable to installation not in accordance with the instructions you were trained on; an unresolved remediation flag (having no unresolved flag is a continuing condition, not a one-off gate); a serious breach of the Code of Conduct; or account closure. A product-version change may cause a conditional lapse for the changed component only. Every decision carries notice, a right of reply and an appeal.
What you may say publicly.
- You may say: "Verified installer — Outdure Academy", together with the scope line required by the Badge Standard.
- You may not say: any of the words prohibited for Trained status; "independently verified"; "verified by [any third party]"; "vetted"; "insured by Outdure"; "backed by Outdure"; "Outdure-guaranteed"; or anything suggesting we monitor, supervise or stand behind your work, or that using you changes a customer's warranty rights.
Strategic Partner
What it is. A separately negotiated, individual written arrangement with a small number of established businesses, agreed case by case. It sits outside the Registered–Trained–Verified progression.
It is not a rung on the ladder. There is no application route, no published criteria to satisfy, no point at which training or verification produces it, and no entitlement to it. Completing every Academy module does not lead to it.
How it arises. Only by a written agreement signed by both parties, negotiated individually. Each proposed arrangement is screened before it is entered into against the rule in section 7 of the Participation Terms (no required payment of any kind as a condition of status) and against the prohibition on prescribing a marketing plan, business system or method of operation.
What it entitles the holder to. Only what that specific written agreement says. Nothing in this page or any other Academy document adds anything to it.
What it is not. It is not a distributorship, dealership, reseller appointment, franchise, agency or employment relationship. It does not authorise the holder to speak for us, price for us, commit us or hold themselves out as us. It is not an Academy competence tier and says nothing about the holder's training level; a Strategic Partner who wants a competence status obtains it the same way as anyone else. It does not carry a Verified badge unless the holder separately holds Verified status.
How it can be lost. In accordance with the individual written agreement.
What may be said publicly. Only what the individual written agreement expressly permits. In the absence of an express permission, a Strategic Partner arrangement is not to be described publicly at all — and never as "official", "authorised", "certified", "endorsed", "ambassador", "representative", "partner company", "dealer" or "distributor".
Reseller and Stockist — the other axis
"Reseller" and "Stockist" describe a business's commercial relationship with a supplier of our products, under a separate written commercial agreement. They are not Academy statuses and are not granted, affected, improved or lost by anything that happens in Academy. See the Academy Reseller and Stockist Terms.
Hybrid descriptions are prohibited in both directions. There is no such thing as a "Verified Reseller", a "Certified Stockist", a "Trained dealer" applied to a business, or an "Approved Outdure partner". A business may accurately say that individuals it employs hold a named Academy status — for example, "four of our installers are Outdure Academy Trained" — and that is the only correct construction.
Words we do not use, and why
We do not describe any Academy status — or anyone holding one — as certified, certification, accredited, qualified, licensed, approved installer, approved contractor, authorised representative, vetted, endorsed or our installer. None of those words applies here. There is no accrediting body, no licensing authority and no independent third party behind any Academy status; every one of them is our own internal recognition, granted by us, against criteria we publish and can change.
Where we issue a document on completion, it is titled a Certificate of Completion, names the specific modules completed, the course version and the date, and states on its face that it is not a professional certification of any kind.
If you see any of the prohibited words used about Academy anywhere — on our own material, on a dealer's site, in an advertisement — please tell us at academy@outdure.com so we can correct it.
Governing law and disputes are set out in the Academy Jurisdiction Overlays, which apply to this document as if set out in it in full.
