Outdure Academy — Reseller and Stockist Terms (the separate commercial axis)
Document ID: ACADEMY-PUB-15 · Version: 2026.09.1 · Effective: 7 September 2026 · Provider: Outdure International Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong with limited liability · Registered office: available from academy@outdure.com on request · Contact: academy@outdure.com
This document exists to keep two things apart that are easy to confuse. It explains what Reseller and Stockist mean, why they are not Academy statuses, and exactly what a business in either role may and may not say about Academy.
1. Two axes, and they never merge
| Academy statuses | Commercial roles | |
|---|---|---|
| What they attach to | An individual installer | A business |
| What they are about | Training completed, and — at Verified — documentation of completed installations reviewed | Buying, stocking and reselling products |
| The names | Registered · Trained · Verified, and the separately negotiated Strategic Partner arrangement | Reseller · Stockist |
| Governed by | The Academy documents | A separate written commercial agreement |
| How you get one | Enrol, train, submit documentation | Negotiate and sign a commercial agreement |
| Cost | Free, always — no payment of any kind may be required | Commercial terms, agreed in that agreement |
Neither ever confers the other.
- Completing Academy training, at any level, never makes a business a Reseller or Stockist, and gives no right to buy from anyone, at any price, or to hold stock, or to resell.
- Being a Reseller or Stockist never confers an Academy status on anyone, and never entitles a business or its staff to use an Academy badge.
- A Reseller may have no Academy-trained installers at all. A Verified installer may work for a business that buys nothing from us. Both are entirely normal.
2. What these terms are, and are not
2.1 This document is a public explanation of the boundary. It is not the commercial agreement. A Reseller or Stockist relationship exists only under a separate signed written agreement, and that agreement governs everything commercial — appointment, territory if any, pricing, ordering, stock, payment, term and termination.
2.2 Nothing in any Academy document creates, implies or promises a Reseller or Stockist appointment, or any right to buy, any pricing, any territory, any exclusivity or any supply.
3. What a Reseller or Stockist may say about Academy
3.1 Correct — a statement about named individuals:
- "Four of our installers hold Outdure Academy Trained status."
- "Our installer [name] holds Outdure Academy Verified status." (with the badge scope line, where a badge is shown)
- "We can put you in touch with an Outdure Academy Verified installer."
3.2 Prohibited — anything that attaches an Academy status to the business, or invents a hybrid:
- "Verified Reseller", "Certified Stockist", "Trained dealer", "Approved Outdure partner", "Accredited Outdure supplier", "Official Outdure stockist"
- "We are Outdure certified / accredited / qualified / approved / authorised / verified / vetted / endorsed"
- Anything suggesting the business itself has been trained, verified, checked, endorsed or approved by us, or that it is us, is part of us, or acts for us.
3.3 A business may describe its commercial role accurately using the words its own commercial agreement uses, and nothing more.
4. Warranty — the rule for anyone selling our products
4.1 Any product warranty, and the conditions on which it applies, is governed by the applicable QwickBuild warranty terms. A Reseller or Stockist must not describe the warranty's duration, tiers, eligibility or claim mechanics beyond what those terms say, and must not state or imply that any Academy status guarantees a warranty claim.
4.2 No promotional labour benefit is offered at general availability. The approved customer-facing warranty wording, including any installer-recognition eligibility, is being reconciled with the applicable QwickBuild warranty terms; until it is issued, refer customers to those terms.
4.3 Do not create your own warranty tables or summaries; refer customers to the applicable QwickBuild warranty terms for the warranty's duration, eligibility and conditions.
5. No cross-conditioning
5.1 A commercial appointment, its pricing or any other commercial term is never conditioned on the Academy status of a business's installers, and never on how many of them hold one.
5.2 An Academy status, a directory listing, a referred enquiry or a badge is never conditioned on a business buying anything, buying any volume, holding stock, or being a Reseller or Stockist. No purchase is required for any Academy status — see section 7 of the Participation Terms.
6. Technical and engineering boundaries
A Reseller or Stockist has no authority to vary our product warranty terms, to make a structural, load, span or code-compliance representation beyond our own published technical information, or to hold itself out as providing engineering services. Staff giving installation guidance do so as installers, not as engineers.
7. Reporting a problem
If you see an Academy status described incorrectly by any business, tell us at academy@outdure.com and we will ask for it to be corrected.
Governing law and disputes are set out in the Academy Jurisdiction Overlays, which apply to this document as if set out in it in full.
