Outdure Academy Participation Terms
Document ID: ACADEMY-PUB-01 · Version: 2026.09.2 · Effective: 7 September 2026 · Provider: Outdure International Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong with limited liability · Registered office: available from academy@outdure.com on request · Contact: academy@outdure.com
These terms apply when you enrol in, or take part in, Outdure Academy — our training and installer-recognition programme for installers, contractors and their trade employees. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Outdure International Limited, and "you" means the individual who holds the Academy account.
Related documents that form part of the Academy framework and are referred to below: the Academy Tier Definitions and Criteria, the Academy Training Disclaimer, the Academy Learner Privacy Notice, the Academy Assessment and Revocation Policy, the Academy Course Content Licence and IP Terms, the Academy Code of Conduct, the Academy Fees, Refunds and Cancellation Terms, and the Academy Jurisdiction Overlays.
1. If you enrolled before 29 August 2026
Outdure Academy has been open to enrolments since 17 February 2026. These terms are published with effect from 29 August 2026. This section says exactly how they apply to you if you were already taking part before that date.
1.1 These terms are not backdated. They take effect on their effective date and govern your participation from that date onwards. We are not asking you to agree to them retrospectively, and we do not treat them as having applied to anything that happened before they existed.
1.2 We are not restating what applied before. If you enrolled before the effective date, your participation up to that date was on whatever basis was actually agreed between us at the time, including anything we published or told you at or around enrolment. Nothing in this document changes that, and nothing in it is an acknowledgement by either of us that any particular terms did, or did not, apply during that period.
1.3 How these terms start applying to you. We will notify every existing participant that these terms have been published, give you a reasonable opportunity to read them, and ask you to accept them the next time you sign in. These terms apply to you from the earlier of (a) the date you accept them, and (b) the date you continue to use Academy after we have given you these terms and a reasonable opportunity to read them, which will not be less than 14 days after we notify you.
1.4 Nothing you have already earned is taken away by this document. Publishing these terms does not, by itself, cancel your enrolment, void a completion record, or remove or downgrade any status you already hold. A status can only be changed under the Academy Assessment and Revocation Policy, on a ground stated in it and by the process set out in it.
1.5 Limits and restrictions look forward. The provisions in these terms that restrict what you may do (in particular sections 4, 6 and 8), and any provision that limits or excludes our liability, apply to conduct on or after the date these terms start applying to you under 1.3. They do not apply to anything you did before that date.
1.6 If you do not want to accept them. You may close your Academy account at any time under section 12. Closing your account does not, by itself, cause you to lose a completion record already issued to you; it ends your access to course content and any tier benefit that depends on an active account.
2. Eligibility and your account
2.1 You must be at least 18 years old to hold an Academy account. Academy is intended for people working in, or training to work in, the construction, decking or exterior-remodelling trades. It is not intended for homeowners installing for themselves. We may decline or end an enrolment where an applicant does not appear to be a trade participant.
2.2 By enrolling you confirm that the information you give us — name, employer, trade role, contact details — is accurate, and that you will keep it up to date.
2.3 Your account is personal to you. Keep your credentials confidential, do not let anyone else use your account, do not complete an assessment on anyone else's behalf, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed your account.
3. What Academy is, and what it is not
3.1 What we actually do. So that there is no confusion about our role, this is the complete list of what we do in connection with Academy: we publish training content about our own products; we set and mark assessments; we record who has completed what; at the Verified level, we review documentation and photographs of completed installations against our own published installation instructions; we operate a public directory of participants who ask to be listed; we pass enquiries from people looking for an installer to participants in the relevant area; and we may make a promotional benefit available in connection with a tier under a separate published instrument.
3.2 What we do not do. We do not direct, supervise, schedule, sequence, allocate or inspect your work. We do not attend your sites. We do not set, recommend, cap or influence the price you charge your own customer, and we do not publish an installer price guide, a recommended labour rate or a pricing method for your business. We do not require you to trade under our name, use our name in your business name, operate from premises we designate, use signage, livery or workwear we specify, or follow a marketing plan, business system or method of operation we prescribe. We do not tell you how to run your business; we publish information about our products, which you may use or not use as you judge appropriate.
3.3 Reviewing documentation is not inspecting your work. Where we review the documentation you submit for Verified status, we are checking submitted material against our own published installation instructions. That is a review of a document set, not a site inspection, a safety audit, a quality-assurance function or a sign-off on your work. It does not make us responsible for the installation, and it does not create any duty on us to supervise, inspect or approve anything you do afterwards.
4. Course content
Your licence to use Academy course content, and the limits on it, are set out in the Academy Course Content Licence and IP Terms, which form part of these terms. In summary: your licence is personal, view-only, non-transferable and revocable; you must not download, record, screen-capture, redistribute or re-post course content except where we expressly provide a download; and you must not use course content to build or supplement a competing training programme.
5. Assessments
5.1 You must complete assessments personally, without impersonation, unauthorised collaboration or an unauthorised aid, unless an assessment is expressly marked open-resource. Certain safety-relevant questions must be answered correctly for a module to count as complete.
5.2 You may retake a failed assessment under the rules published for that course. Marking, retakes, appeals against a marking decision, and the consequences of a suspected integrity breach are dealt with in the Academy Assessment and Revocation Policy.
6. Status: what you may hold, and what you may say about it
6.1 The four Academy statuses — Registered, Trained and Verified, and the separately negotiated Strategic Partner arrangement — are defined, with their entry criteria, entitlements and limits, in the Academy Tier Definitions and Criteria. That document controls. Reseller and Stockist are commercial roles on a different axis; they are not Academy statuses and are dealt with in the Academy Reseller and Stockist Terms.
6.2 Completing Academy training is not a professional qualification.
Completing an Outdure Academy course, module or assessment does not make you a certified, accredited, qualified or licensed professional in any trade, and does not satisfy any trade-licensing, registration or building-code requirement in any country, state or province. Academy statuses are our own internal recognition levels. No accrediting body, licensing authority or independent third party sits behind any of them. Holding the licences, registrations and insurances your jurisdiction requires remains entirely your own responsibility.
6.3 Words you must not use. If you refer to your Academy status in your own marketing, to a customer, on a quotation, on a vehicle or on a site sign, use the status name exactly as the Tier Definitions define it. You must not describe yourself or your business as certified, certified installer, accredited, qualified, licensed, approved installer, approved contractor, authorised representative, or as part of, employed by, an agent of or acting for us, on the strength of Academy participation. Use of the Academy badge is governed by the Academy Verified Badge Use and Representation Standard.
6.4 You must not use your account or your status to misrepresent your qualifications, licensing or insurance to a customer or anyone else.
7. There is never a payment for Academy status — and this is a rule, not a price
7.1 Participation in Academy, and every Academy status, listing and benefit, is provided at no charge. You are not required to pay us, or anyone connected with us, anything at all — by any name and in any form — as a condition of obtaining, holding, renewing or using an Academy status, a directory listing, a badge, a lead referral or a benefit tied to a status.
7.2 For the avoidance of doubt, none of the following is required of you and none may be introduced as a condition of any Academy status: a course, exam, assessment, application, administration or verification fee; a listing, badge, membership, renewal or subscription fee; a marketing levy or co-operative advertising contribution; a paid tier, premium listing, priority-routing or lead-subscription charge; a minimum purchase, minimum stock holding, starter kit, sample kit or tool kit you must buy; a required purchase of branded signage, vehicle livery, workwear or marketing material; a deposit, whether or not refundable; or any purchase of our products at all.
7.3 Anything with the economic character of a required payment counts, however it is labelled.
7.4 Any material you receive from us in connection with Academy — training, support, a welcome pack, marketing assets or reward items — is provided free of charge and is not something you are required to buy or hold.
7.5 This section is a controlled provision. It is not shorthand for our current pricing and it is not to be treated as a commercial preference that can be varied in the ordinary course. Fees, refunds and the position if any charge were ever introduced are dealt with in the Academy Fees, Refunds and Cancellation Terms.
8. Code of conduct
The Academy Code of Conduct describes the behaviour we expect of participants and how we respond when it does not happen. It applies to your participation. Where the Code and these terms cover the same ground, these terms prevail. The Code does not create any separate power to change your status; a status can only change under the Academy Assessment and Revocation Policy.
9. Suspension, revocation and appeal
9.1 Your Academy status may be suspended, downgraded or revoked only on a ground stated in the Academy Assessment and Revocation Policy, and only by the process set out in it. That process includes written notice of the ground and the material relied on, an opportunity for you to reply before a decision is made, a written decision with reasons, and a right of appeal to someone who was not involved in the original decision.
9.2 Immediate suspension is available only where a matter involves an immediate safety risk or apparent fraud, and only pending the process in 9.1, which then runs as quickly as is practical.
9.3 Effect. A revocation, downgrade or lapse takes effect from the date of the decision and looks forward. It does not retrospectively affect a warranty claim for an installation you carried out while you validly held the status, and it does not, by itself, affect any base product warranty — see section 10.
9.4 We will not suspend, downgrade or revoke your status because you have declined to buy something from us, because you have made a complaint or a good-faith report, because you have exercised a legal right, or because you also work with a competing product.
10. Academy status and product warranty
10.1 Any product warranty, and the conditions on which it applies, is governed by the applicable QwickBuild warranty terms — not by Academy. Holding an Academy status does not by itself approve an installation, establish that it complied with the then-current published installation instructions, or guarantee a warranty claim.
10.2 No promotional labour benefit is offered at general availability. The final customer-facing warranty wording, including any installer-recognition eligibility, is being reconciled with the applicable QwickBuild warranty terms; those terms govern.
11. You remain an independent business
11.1 Academy is a training and recognition programme. Enrolling, completing a course, holding any status, appearing in the directory, receiving a lead, or using any benefit attached to a status does not create an employment, agency, franchise, representative, partnership, joint-venture, distributorship or subcontracting relationship between you (or your employer) and us. You are not authorised to accept an order, make a representation, give a warranty, settle a claim or enter into any commitment on our behalf.
11.2 You decide your own working hours, methods (within the bounds of our published installation instructions and the building code that applies to you), staffing, pricing and terms of trade. Where a customer engages you, you contract with that customer directly, on your own account, for your own price and on your own terms. We are not a party to that contract, we do not guarantee your performance of it, and we do not adjudicate a dispute between you and your customer arising from it.
11.3 Academy participation does not require you to pay us a franchise fee, a licence fee or anything else (section 7), to buy a minimum quantity of our products, to trade under our name, to operate from premises we designate, or to follow a marketing plan or system we prescribe. Any use of our marks by you is limited to the specific, revocable permission described in the Academy Verified Badge Use and Representation Standard, and any separate written permission we give you.
11.4 Note on this section. 11.1 to 11.3 are drafted to match what we actually do, described at section 3. They are not a formula. If our conduct ever changes so that any part of section 3 stops being accurate, this section is to be corrected, not preserved.
12. Ending your participation
12.1 You may close your account at any time by writing to academy@outdure.com.
12.2 We may end your enrolment for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, through the process in section 9.
12.3 On your account ending: your course-content licence ends immediately; any directory listing is removed; any permission to use an Academy badge or status description ends and you must stop using it within 30 days; and any status you held is treated under section 9.3. Sections 6.2, 6.3, 10, 11 and 13 continue to apply to anything that happened while your account was open.
13. General
13.1 Changes. We may update these terms. A material change carries a new version number and effective date, and we will notify participants and give a reasonable opportunity to read the change before it applies, on the same basis as section 1.3.
13.2 Liability. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, or any right you have under the law of your own country that cannot lawfully be excluded, including a consumer guarantee.
13.3 Order of precedence. If these terms conflict with another Academy document on the same point, these terms prevail, except that the Academy Tier Definitions and Criteria prevail on what a status means, the Academy Assessment and Revocation Policy prevails on process, and the Academy Learner Privacy Notice prevails on the handling of personal information.
13.4 Governing law and disputes. The law that governs these terms, and the forum for a dispute, are set out in the Academy Jurisdiction Overlays, which apply to this document as if set out in it in full.
