Outdure Academy — Course Content Licence and Intellectual Property Terms
Document ID: ACADEMY-PUB-14 · Version: 2026.09.2 · Effective: 7 September 2026 · Provider: Outdure International Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong with limited liability · Registered office: available from academy@outdure.com on request · Contact: academy@outdure.com
These terms govern your use of Outdure Academy course content, what you may do with a Certificate of Completion, what you may do with our marks, and what happens to material you send us. They form part of the Academy Participation Terms.
1. Your licence
1.1 We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to view Academy course content for your own training, for as long as your account is open and in good standing.
1.2 The licence is view-only. You must not:
- download, record, screen-capture, film, photograph or otherwise copy course video or materials, except where we expressly provide a download (for example a printable installation guideline or a Certificate of Completion);
- redistribute, republish, re-post, share, sell, licence or make course content available anywhere else, including on social media, a shared drive or a training platform of your own;
- use course content to build, supplement, benchmark or train a competing training programme, course or product, or to train an automated or machine-learning system;
- remove, alter or obscure any notice, watermark or attribution; or
- let anyone who is not enrolled view the content through your account.
1.3 Enrolling transfers no ownership. All Academy course content is owned by us or by our licensors, and all rights not expressly granted are reserved.
1.4 Your licence ends when your account ends, or immediately on a serious breach of this section. You must then stop using the content and delete any copy you hold, other than a downloadable artefact we expressly provided.
2. What you may do
Use what you learn. Nothing in these terms restricts your use of the knowledge and skills you gain in your own business, on any job, for any customer, with any product. The restriction is on copying and redistributing our materials, not on what you know.
3. Certificates of Completion
3.1 A Certificate of Completion names the modules you completed, the course version and the date, and states on its face that it is not a professional certification.
3.2 You may show it to a customer, an employer, a dealer or a licensing body as evidence of what you completed. You may reproduce it in full and unaltered.
3.3 You must not alter it, reproduce it in part in a way that changes what it says, use it to suggest a qualification, licence, accreditation or certification it does not confer, or present it as issued by anyone other than us.
4. Our marks and the status badge
4.1 Any permission to use our name, logo or a status badge is limited, personal, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable, and is granted only for the specific purpose of describing your own Academy status accurately. It is set out in the Academy Verified Badge Use and Representation Standard and in any separate written permission we give you.
4.2 You are granted no other right in our marks, and no right to register, apply for, use in a business or domain name, or claim any interest in, any mark, name or badge of ours or anything confusingly similar.
4.3 Permission ends when your status or your account ends. You must then stop all use within 30 days.
4.4 Our permission extends only so far as the rights we ourselves hold allow. Where we cannot properly grant a permission, we will say so rather than grant it.
5. What you send us
5.1 You keep ownership of the photographs, installation documentation, forum posts and other material you submit.
5.2 You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, reproduce and adapt that material for the purposes of running Academy — assessing your submission, granting and evidencing a status, investigating a remediation flag or a claim, and improving our training and installation instructions.
5.3 Anything more requires your separate agreement. We will not use your project photographs or your name in marketing, a case study, a social post or a website feature unless you have separately agreed to it, and you may withdraw that agreement for future use at any time.
5.4 You confirm, for anything you submit, that you have the right to submit it; that where it shows a customer's property you have that customer's agreement; and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or contain anyone's personal information you should not be sending.
5.5 We may remove or decline material that breaches these terms or the Academy Code of Conduct.
6. Feedback
If you give us feedback or a suggestion about Academy, we may use it without obligation to you. You do not have to give us feedback.
7. Third-party material
Some course content includes third-party material used under licence to us. Your licence to that material is no broader than the licence we hold, and gives you no right to use it separately.
8. Copyright and takedown
If you believe Academy content infringes your rights, write to academy@outdure.com with enough detail to identify the material and the right you say is infringed, and we will investigate.
Governing law and disputes are set out in the Academy Jurisdiction Overlays, which apply to this document as if set out in it in full.
