1. Our aim

We want Outdure Academy to be usable by everyone taking part, including people who use assistive technology. Our target for Academy course content and the platform interfaces around it is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

2. This is a target, not a claim about where we are

We are stating an aim, not a level we have achieved. No accessibility audit of the live Academy platform has been completed, and this statement does not say that WCAG 2.1 AA has been met. We will update this statement when an audit has been done, and say what it found.

3. Captions and transcripts

Academy training videos carry captions where captions are available. Not all videos in the live course library are captioned yet, and we do not claim full caption coverage. If you come to a video without usable captions, tell us at academy@outdure.com and we will prioritise it and, on request, talk you through the content.

4. Known limitations

Some course material includes diagrams and photographs where the visual detail is the point. Where a text alternative cannot carry the whole meaning, we will describe the content and, on request, talk you through it.

5. If something is not accessible to you

Write to academy@outdure.com with the course or page, what happened and the assistive technology you use. We aim to acknowledge within 5 business days and to tell you what we can do and by when.

No one is disadvantaged in the programme for needing an alternative. If an assessment format is a barrier, tell us and we will provide an alternative that tests the same knowledge — arranging that never affects your status, and there is no charge for it.

6. Changes

We will update this statement as work is completed or an audit is carried out. A material change carries a new version number and effective date.
